Summer camp at the YMCA is right around the corner for kids in Orcutt and Santa Maria! Time to register for 2008 summer day camp for boys and girls! There are traditional summer day camp programs for youth ages 5 – 12, and fun Teen Xtreme camp for kids entering grades 6 – 7 – and 8. Teen Xtreme Day Camp – for kids entering grades 6 – 8
This camp is fun for teens and pre-teens, a great way to get out of the house and sliding, hiking, and climbing to an exciting summer! Meet at the “Y”, and then get out and go! Field trip destinations that are fun and fresh – beaches, parks, who knows – maybe even an amusement park???? Last year they went to Magic Mountain the last week of camp!!! Wow! they do have a lot of fun, and get to hang out with friends too! Gotta be at the “Y” no later than 9am to get going on the day!
Splash Camp – For Ages 5 – 12, grouped by ages by session dates. The YMCA teaches a structured progressive youth swim program which will be followed at summer camp. It accomodates everyone from the non-swimmer to the competent swimmer. All swim lesson levels are motivated to impove skills and have fun at the same time! A great way to learn to swim – swim lessons at the “Y”! After morning swim lessons, campers have time for traditional camp activities. Here are the age groups by weeks;

Skate Camp with One Way Boardshop – a one-of-a-kind skateboarding experience! This skate day camp is for kids ages 7 and up for all 4 sessions. This summer camp will be filled with skateboard instruction and some free skate time each day – all skill levels are welcome! Gotta bring your own skate board and helmets – and the helmet must have a chin stap that latches. In addition to skating, the kids will also have some pool time and traditional camp activities! Only 4 sessions, and they fill up FAST! The youth skate camp sessions for kids and teens are 7/7/08 – 7/11/08, 7/14/08 – 7/18/08, 7/21/08 – 7/25/08, and 7/28/08 – 8/1/08
